OK, generaly, here are functions that work or almost work in Pulsar

  • Movement between sectors
  • Movement between systems
  • Docking and undocking
  • Port Info
  • Sector Info
  • Sector resets (they work little different that in OB)
  • General panels
  • NPC movement
  • Port cargo resets (it works little different that in OB)
  • Trading with ports (well, 90% works) (works little different that in OB)
  • System creator!! No more Excel to create systems :)


I'll try to report newest creations here if possible :)

And voil'a next things are finished:
  • Item trading
  • Jettisoning cargo
  • 20% of galaxy 1 system's are almost finished

Next things to do:
  • system map
  • news systems
  • player-player comunication
  • some tweaking


When it will be done, I think I'll arrange some test. Of course you will be my testers :)

Important decisions:
  • Ship parameter Fuel is removed, ships do not use Fuel to move
  • Antimattery known from Omricon is removed.
  • Name "Turns" is changed to "Antimattery". Antimattery is used like Turns in Omricon
  • There will be only 3 ship sizes
  • There will be only 3 weapon sizes. Size 1 and 2 are regular weapons, Size 3 is for Siege Weapons
  • There will be no SHD or ARM repairs for Antimettery (Turns). Ships will regenerate SHD, ARM and Power with time. For example, if ship has SHD regeneration ratio 5, it will regenerate 5 SHD every second (in flight or during combat). Immediate repairs will possible in ports (for cash)

Engine is good, but it need complete rewrite.

And I'm back! Year ago I bought new apartment and for 10 months had no internet connection. Now I have one and started programming pulsar again:
  • Weapons buy/sell function
  • Equipment buy/sell function
  • Database optimization

It's possible that user registration will be ready in a week so you can prepare for some late early beta tests

Anyway, game moved forward again, those things will be introduced for testing later:
  • Online players list
  • Messages

I will have 2 free days from work, so maybe i'll work on combat. After some thinking, combat model will be simpler that I previously intended. More like from Omri, bo with some differences

OK, that's how work is going:

  • general layout changes to make it more obvious
  • Game Control Panel - for admins only, but that counts too :)
  • Some real equations in combat: weapon accuracy and sector visibility
  • Weapon designing - anybody want's to help with balancing?
  • Several smaller tweaks and changes, most of them is unnoticable :)
