yeah since tdzk will be changed into some ogame clone, omricon is down, and pulsar is nowhere to be seen I started coding my own thing.

At the moment you can only register to the ... well something that will turn out to be a game in the near future... hopefully.

But anyway if u guys are interested register at www.lalande.nazwa.pl (the name isnt final)

if anything worthy of testing or seeing will appear ill spam... err mail u ;)

so be sure to leave a correct email address as Im too lazy to even do a email check ;P

alright, ive added a work log in the main page so if ur curious about progress just check every once in a while. I usually work in late hours from 20:00 to around 2 AM (GMT +1) so I guess we could find a irc server and chat there like in the old days ;)

Right, if there were an IRC room we could surely chat (actually you just fit my online times) but not about your game for sure. Seeing how neither your posts or your website gives out any clue on what will it be. ;)

Btw, I know having your own game is easier on the deciding things and especially on the cooperation part :p , but if its planned to be some TDZK/Omricon-ish game, why dont you consult with Dziku about a possible common future?

Becouse we were supposed to start doing the game together starting last summer and afer sending him a few of first files I never heard from him again.

Get the hint.

as for what im making well... it would take me a whole day atl east to sort of describe it. In a nut shell:

movement combat and raids v similiar to tdzk/omricon
no turns/time limitations
no experience
character develpment based on further achivements in career track

players should focus on

Strategy
Good team play
Using your braincells

Ill do my best if this thing gets going to counter:
fast clicking for the win
zerging

we had enough of those two in both omricon (fast clickage FTW) and tdzk (Zarging)

how am I planing to do so?

Strategy = know your ship try to develop a best design you can (best =/= kills all) and PLAN your attack. I will try to develop a multitude of detection system so that speed wont matter as much (such as Active system wide ping passive system pings active tracking advanced long range scanning)

also ships and character classes will be very varied (only one out of possible 4 will focus on combat) and that class will propably have 3 career paths (specialization between fighter squadrons super capital ship operating and carrier command)

non combat classes would be
trader (specialization in resources, super trade ships and tradefleets)
engineer (specialization in ship building, station construction, weapon/equipment/subsystem crafting)
scout (nothing sure about this yet most likely it will be one scout class capable of compleate scout coverage of entire system or even few at once, and intel class capable of obtaining information from players/npc (by that I mean cracking their networks nav computers and such)

From I last heard of dziku implementation on such scale would be impossible we had a few talks about related topics and I figured id never be able to do any of it right, as those concept are pretty much all or nothing.

Also Dziku has awesome skills, but compleatly no time, from what ive noticed the pulsar development is in compleate standstill from last summer. I on the other hand am quite unexperienced in coding the damn thing but slowly getting there. I guess if I get my hands on few "how to"`s ill be able to do it all.

However I belive that writing the engine will be the easiest part, good and efficient interface will come second but putting all that content will eat almost all the energy.

Anyway well see how it flows

We cant whore it cause the server gave up. :P

Btw, why dont you just do it on your own comp, and only upload it when its more or less working (eg. when you call it alpha)?
At least I have the feeling that now youre wasting a lot of energy on making something to work somehow, when its not even supposed to do so in its current state.

pfft nah its all ok, oh panzer you were trying to get in while I was checking some new stuff up.

The new stuff won :P it entered a nevr ending loop somehow didnt got stopped and the server got clogged had to took it down :P

anyway its back there all in its shinyness :P

And really everything is going smooth. Slow but smooth. There isnt much content atm becouse that will be added later. My priority for now is to get the engine fully working, test it for security and then fill it up. No point in cluttering the database now.

And coding/testing it local? Nah im too lazy xD besides id rather put everything for testing here since I want to make sure it will run on server specs. anyway move to the lalande forums dammit, thats why its there :P

oh and today (I know I was supposed to do it earlier) you guys will get a general idea how ship upgrades will work. Well more or less ;)
